
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Uzbekistan's highest civilian honour, the ‘Oliy Darajali Do'stlik’ Order, from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Kuksaroy Presidential Palace in Tashkent on August 30, 2026.
The Prime Minister dedicated the award to the 1.4 billion people of India and the centuries-old friendship between the two nations, noting the cultural significance of the word ‘Dostlik’.
Following the ceremony, India and Uzbekistan agreed to elevate their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership ahead of PM Modi's travel to the SCO summit on August 31.
