Microsoft Retires Mico Avatar from Copilot Voice

Microsoft is removing the animated yellow avatar Mico from its Copilot Voice AI assistant less than a year after its October 2025 debut.

The character, which provided real-time facial expressions and animations, will be repurposed as an animated tutor within Microsoft's educational platform, Learn Live.

The change is part of an update to the Copilot experience, moving the visual identity away from the chatbot interface to focus on educational utility.
