Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Clears Seven-Year Backlog of Film Subsidies

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay released ₹15.68 crore in subsidies to producers of 224 Tamil films, clearing a backlog pending since 2015.

Each selected producer received a cheque of ₹7 lakh at an event held at Kalaivanar Arangam ahead of Diwali.

State Minister Rajmohan announced that future state awards for Tamil cinema will be presented strictly on the basis of merit and honesty.
