Three Newborns Die in Amravati Hospital Fire

Three newborn babies died after a ventilator exploded and caught fire in the Special Newborn Care Unit of Amravati’s District Women’s Hospital at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

At the time of the incident, 39 infants were admitted to the unit; six were rescued from the affected area, while others were shifted to the Divisional Referral Service Hospital.

Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has ordered a complete inquiry into the fire, confirming that medical assistance is being provided to the injured infants currently undergoing treatment.
