UN chief Guterres meets PM Modi during New Delhi BRICS Summit

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.

The two leaders discussed ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine, their global economic impacts on food and fertilizer access, and the growing danger of lethal autonomous weapons.

Guterres reaffirmed the principle of freedom of navigation and appreciated India's close cooperation with the United Nations.
