Tamil Nadu CB-CID arrests Rajasthan man over deepfake video of CM

The Crime Branch CID of the Tamil Nadu police arrested a suspect near Alwar in Rajasthan for circulating AI-generated deepfake videos impersonating Chief Minister M.K. Vijay.

The accused used the fabricated videos in Hindi to scam citizens by asking them to contact a WhatsApp number for financial assistance.

Investigators tracked the digital trails and suspect movements through Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, seizing mobile phones and electronic devices used in the crime.
