An Air India pilot operating the Phuket-Delhi flight failed a confirmatory dope test for marijuana, following a flight-control event that caused a 300-foot altitude drop.
The pilot, whose identity remains under investigation, tested positive for THC metabolites in a second mandatory screening after initial reports of erratic behavior in the cockpit.
