Chilean-Indian filmmaker Shalini Adnani's debut feature 'Our Share of Sand' has entered the 41st Venice International Critics' Week for its world premiere.
The film follows 12-year-old Maya as she encounters the hazardous conditions of rural Indian sand-mining operations managed by her estranged father.
Adnani stated that the narrative draws from her dual cultural background and personal observations of resource extraction and development in India.
