Google Expands Play Signal API for Age Assurance

Google will expand its Play Signal API globally by the end of 2026, allowing Android developers to identify user age ranges without accessing personal data.

The rollout begins in Australia and Canada by mid-August, following the tool's initial implementation in Brazil to help provide age-appropriate app experiences.

Parents can manage these settings through the Family Link dashboard, where they must opt in to share age-range information with developers.
