Bank of Baroda confirmed a security incident after hackers reportedly put 1TB of customer data, including Aadhaar and account numbers, for sale on the darknet.
The breach was traced to a compromised employee email account, though the bank stated that its core banking systems remain secure and unaffected.
Software engineer Srikanth Lakshmanan identified the threat group Triple X as the likely perpetrator, prompting the bank to initiate a comprehensive forensic investigation.
