Karnataka Chief Minister Shivakumar announced a formal review of compensation for the families of three Tamil individuals killed in a forest firing incident within the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.
The incident occurred in the Hanur region, where forest officials engaged suspected poachers, resulting in three deaths and triggering widespread protests that were only withdrawn after government intervention.
The state government is now evaluating the legal and humanitarian aspects of the case to determine the appropriate financial aid for the victims' kin while maintaining forest security protocols.
