Government to Release AI Regulation Consultation Paper Within a Month

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Thursday that the government will release a consultation paper on artificial intelligence regulations within a month.

The proposed regulatory framework will focus primarily on AI safety, deepfakes, harm mitigation, a human-first approach, and skilling.

Vaishnaw emphasized that technology cannot be regulated by law alone and called for a techno-legal solution with primary responsibility resting on the industry.
