Manpreet Kaur Wins Bronze in Shot Put at Asian Games 2026

Manpreet Kaur secured India's first athletics medal of Day 6 at the Asian Games 2026 by winning bronze in the women's shot put final.

She claimed the third spot with a best throw of 17.17 meters on her fourth attempt, while compatriot Krishna Jayasankar Menon finished fifth with 16.57 meters.

In men's 100m semi-finals, national record holder Gurindervir Singh and Animesh Kujur both failed to qualify for the final after finishing outside the top positions.
