Bhagwant Mann Aide Challenges CBI Raid In High Court

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging a CBI investigation and search at his residence.

Ghuman argued that the Central Bureau of Investigation acted without obtaining mandatory prior approval under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The petition cites the Supreme Court's 2020 judgment in Yashwant Sinha vs. CBI to argue that court-ordered FIR investigations still require statutory government approval.
