Very severe cyclonic storm 'Arnab' began its landfall process near Narsapur town in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh at around 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The IMD reported wind intensity near the centre at 125-135 kmph, gusting up to 150 kmph, alongside expected storm surges of 1.5 to 2.5 meters in Kakinada and Yanam.

Northern parts of Andhra Pradesh, including Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts, experienced relentless rain with multiple stations recording extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 200 mm.
