Uttarakhand cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal revealed that Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi was paid ₹35 lakh to perform at the Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism Fair in New Tehri.
The minister publicly reprimanded Mehndi on stage during the event, objecting to his disoriented demeanor and alleged lip-syncing during the Navratri celebrations.
Uniyal expressed resentment that the artist failed to do justice to his performance despite the high remuneration offered by the organizers.
