Allahabad HC stays recovery of ₹6.41 crore in Saharanpur Mosque demolition case

The Allahabad High Court stayed the recovery of ₹6.41 crore damages from a mosque committee following a demolition at the Saharanpur Collectorate complex last week.

Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and local administration, directing them to file a counter affidavit within three weeks.

The matter will next be heard on October 12, 2026, while the realization of damages imposed by the City Magistrate remains stayed until the next listing.
