SBI Research Proposes New NTA Law and Governance Overhaul for Public Exams

SBI Research recommended a dedicated NTA Act passed by Parliament to establish a clear legal mandate, independent oversight board, and permanent professional workforce.

The report highlighted that 88% of NTA personnel were contractual or outsourced as of July 2024, contributing to traceability challenges during major exams.

Proposed reforms include an independent Standards and Appeals Body, a Candidate Charter with defined timelines, and enhanced financial transparency.
