Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov won the Clutch Chess Champions Showdown tournament, overtaking India's R Praggnanandhaa on the final day of the event.
Praggnanandhaa held a 2.5-point lead going into the final day, but Sindarov capitalised on the tournament's format where final-day wins carried higher points.
Sindarov finished ahead of Praggnanandhaa in second place, Fabiano Caruana in third, and Hikaru Nakamura in fourth ahead of his upcoming world championship match.
