Rajnath Singh Launches First India-Made Fleet Support Ship In Vizag

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched FSS-1, the first of five Fleet Support Ships built for the Indian Navy, at Hindustan Shipyard Limited in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

The 43,500-tonne vessels will refuel and resupply warships at sea, extending the Navy's reach across the Indian Ocean Region.

During his visit, Singh also laid the keel for FSS-5 and opened an upgraded slipway and a 300-tonne crane that expand the yard's building capacity.
