UGC social inclusion scheme delay leaves central university staff unpaid

Seven months into the financial year, 24 central universities are awaiting the renewal of the UGC's Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion in Universities scheme.

Administrative delays in processing the annual continuation order have left teaching and non-teaching staff across prominent institutions with delayed or withheld salaries.

Universities have repeatedly urged the UGC to structurally integrate the sanctioned posts into regular establishments to comply with Supreme Court guidelines.
