Jamia Millia Islamia Sets Up Committee to Draft Students Union Constitution

Jamia Millia Islamia established a five-member committee to draft the constitution for its students’ union, which has remained dissolved since 2006.

The move follows ongoing student protests that began on October 12 demanding the restoration of elected representation on campus.

The committee is chaired by Zubair Meenai, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, to review past court rulings and recommendations from the 2006 Lyngdoh Committee.
