Delhi University's executive council approved direct PhD admissions for four-year undergraduate students starting from the 2026–27 academic session.
Eligible candidates must hold a CGPA above 7.5 and have published research in SCOPUS-indexed journals, allowing them to continue under their existing undergraduate dissertation supervisor.
The council also approved a new Group Insurance Scheme providing ₹20 lakh coverage for employees and introduced one-year postgraduate programmes at the School of Open Learning.
