Damaged Saudi oil pipeline to remain mostly out of service for weeks

A crucial Saudi East-West oil pipeline struck in a drone attack last week will remain mostly out of service for several weeks for repairs.

The 1,200-kilometre pipeline carries up to 7 million barrels of oil a day to Red Sea terminals, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.

Repairing the damage, including at a major pumping facility, is expected to take three to five weeks.
