Australia Launches Vaccination Plan as H5N1 Bird Flu Spreads

Australia has recorded over 230 confirmed H5N1 bird flu cases and has initiated a vaccination program for vulnerable native bird species kept in captivity.

The government has allocated A$2 million ($1.3 million) for the vaccine rollout, which will be implemented across states and territories in the coming days.

While the virus has spread to most jurisdictions, authorities have found no evidence of H5N1 in the agricultural poultry sector to date.
