Withheld Samagra Shiksha Funds Disrupt Kerala's Inclusive Education Programs

The Union government has withheld over ₹116 crore in Samagra Shiksha funds for the 2025-26 financial year, severely impacting inclusive education services for differently abled children in Kerala.

The funding shortfall has halted travel allowances for students and maintenance for essential equipment like treadmills at autism centers, forcing families to bear rising medical and transport costs.

SSK staff report that the lack of resources is causing developmental delays for students, with many children missing school due to their families' inability to afford daily commute expenses.
