
Multiple workers are feared trapped after an under-construction tunnel in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, collapsed on August 13, 2026, following a sudden surge in water levels and debris.
Rescue operations are currently underway, with local authorities confirming that 10 individuals have been successfully extracted from the site so far.
The collapse was triggered by heavy water inflow, prompting an emergency response from the State Disaster Response Force to locate the remaining workers trapped inside the structure.
