Dennis Franchione, who coached college football programs including Texas A&M, Alabama and TCU over a 40-year career, died at 75 on October 6, 2026.
His family confirmed his death following a recurring battle with cancer that had recently led to him entering hospice care.
Franchione achieved a major coaching breakthrough at TCU in 1998, guiding the program to a Sun Bowl victory and its first AP Top 25 finish in decades.
