The BSE Sensex fell 417.49 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 76,152.86 on Thursday, September 3, 2026, as investors reacted to rising oil prices and bond yields.
The Nifty50 index also declined by 41 points, or 0.17 percent, settling at 23,873.45, with Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra, and Trent emerging as the top losers of the day.
Despite the broader market downturn, the Nifty Realty sector outperformed with a 2 percent gain, while Nifty MidCap and SmallCap indices ended the session higher by 0.37 percent and 1.2 percent respectively.
