Cricket Legends Urge Pakistan Government to Provide Medical Care for Imran Khan

Twenty-one former international cricket captains, including Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, have written to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif demanding humane treatment and proper medical care for imprisoned former leader Imran Khan.

The signatories, who include 73-year-old Khan's former rivals, requested an independent health assessment and the reinstatement of weekly family visits following his recent transfer to a state-run hospital.

The letter, dated August 23, 2026, follows a Supreme Court order that previously directed authorities to move Khan to the private Shifa International Hospital for medical examination.
