Ukraine air raid alert app hacked to display radiation threat

Ukraine's air raid alert application suffered a cyber-attack that temporarily sent false notifications of a radiation threat to users in Kyiv.

The hacked application also issued alerts warning of chemical threats, nuclear alerts mentioning an Oreshnik missile, and street fighting.

Russian authorities subsequently reported that emergency notification applications in Russia also experienced a massive cyber-attack broadcasting fake information.
