Sarfaraz Khan has been named as the replacement for Sai Sudharsan in India's squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting August 15 in Galle.

Sudharsan is currently recovering from a right toe stress reaction at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, while Sarfaraz enters the squad after scoring 429 runs in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy.

Devdutt Padikkal is expected to bat at No. 3 in the series, as the team prepares for the first Test following the squad update which includes captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain KL Rahul.
