Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis cleared 6.20 metres to win the men's pole vault at the inaugural Ultimate Championship in Budapest on Friday, collecting $150,000 in prize money.
Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen returned from injury to win the men's 5,000m in 12:59.24, marking only the second sub-13-minute race of his career.
Other winners on the opening day included US hurdlers Masai Russell and Ja'Kobe Tharp, and Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh.
