Protesters Gather at Jantar Mantar Demanding Reservation Reform

Thousands of protesters under the Reservation Hatao Andolan banner gathered at Jantar Mantar on Friday to demand an income-based quota system.

Demonstrators, mobilised by groups including Karni Sena and Ranbir Sena, defied police orders to protest at the site, leading to a standoff and subsequent detentions.

The Union government reiterated its stance that reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes are essential for addressing historical socio-economic marginalisation.
