Delhi Police denotified Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site on October 11, ending its 33-year history as a hub for dissent following recent agitations.
Police commissioner Anurag Kumar signed an order designating three new venues: Ramlila Maidan, Burari Ground, and CBD Ground in east Delhi.
The decision follows a Supreme Court push for an alternative protest site and drew criticism from opposition figures, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
