WHO Warns of Intensifying Ebola Outbreak in DR Congo

The WHO reports that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has spread to 49 health zones across five provinces, reaching 3,605 confirmed cases.

As of July 30, the DRC has recorded 1,587 deaths, making this the largest Ebola outbreak in the country's history, surpassing the 2018-2020 event.

While Uganda declared its own outbreak over on July 28, the WHO maintains a high-risk assessment for cross-border transmission due to ongoing trade and mining movement.
