Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026, and the NCDC (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha this Monday.
The Kerala bill seeks to rename the state to 'Keralam', while the NCDC amendment allows the corporation to directly fund any entity engaged in cooperative development.
Opposition parties are currently protesting in Parliament, demanding a statement from Shah regarding the alleged police use of force against students on July 20.
