The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting notified revised film certification guidelines under the Cinematograph Act on September 16, mandating statutory warnings for drug use scenes.
The rules require scenes depicting narcotic consumption or trafficking to display the warning 'Illicit narcotics destroy health and guarantees imprisonment. Say No To Drugs'.
The updated framework also prohibits glorifying drinking, tobacco consumption, or anti-social activities, and reiterates age-based categorization criteria introduced previously.
