Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah seeking central assistance for drought-affected Karnataka.
Kharge stated that the state is facing what could be its worst drought in 150 years and requested a focus on small, marginal farmers in the dry Hyderabad-Karnataka belt.
He urged the central leaders to calculate input subsidies using updated Bhoomi land records instead of the outdated 2015-16 Agriculture Census to ensure eligible farmers receive support.
