LIC Reports 20% Increase in Q2 Profit to ₹12,115 Crore

LIC reported a 20% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹12,115 crore for the second quarter, supported by a 16.2% growth in net premium income.

The insurer's Value of New Business (VNB) margin expanded by 470 basis points to 22.3%, driven by higher sales of term assurance and non-par savings.

Managing Director R Doraiswamy stated that the company will continue to focus on pure-term protection products, non-par savings, and the growing annuity segment.
