Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan Sign Mecca Joint Defence Agreement

Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement last Friday, establishing a pact where an armed attack on one member is considered an attack on all three.

The alliance commands a combined force of nearly 1.4 million active military personnel, 3,400 aircraft, 6,000 tanks, and 340 naval assets, according to the 2026 Global Firepower Index.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan identified Egypt as a potential future partner for the bloc, which aims to diversify defense capabilities and reduce reliance on traditional Western security models.
