Karnataka's free HPV vaccination campaign for 14-year-old girls has seen a 50 per cent increase in demand since the government removed the previous ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 private cost.
Medical experts state the Gardasil 4 vaccine is most effective when administered between 9 and 14 years of age to prevent persistent infections that lead to cervical cancer.
The initiative is currently available at Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, and government hospitals to bridge healthcare inequalities and improve long-term cancer prevention.
