A New Delhi court acquitted 69-year-old former wrestling federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment and stalking charges on Monday.
The verdict followed a 2024 indictment and years of protests by top athletes, including Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik, who accused Singh of groping and demanding sexual favours.
The court cited inconsistencies in witness statements and contradictions in the case, prompting the complainants to instruct their legal team to file an appeal against the acquittal.
