The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has scheduled a nationwide strike for September 11, followed by a three-day strike from September 28 to 30, and an indefinite strike starting October 26.
The unions are protesting the government's revised Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which they claim creates disparity by offering senior officers up to 365 days' wages in incentives.
The UFBU, representing 90% of the banking workforce, is also demanding the implementation of a five-day work week, a commitment they claim was agreed upon in 2024.
