Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini, the Republican candidate for Michigan Secretary of State, is campaigning to overhaul the state's aging voting technology and administrative infrastructure.
Forlini pledged to halt the sharing of Michigan voter data with third-party groups and proposed scaling his local campaign finance system statewide.
He is competing against Democratic Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II for the position as incumbent Jocelyn Benson is term-limited.
