Common Sense Media Report Claims ChatGPT for Teens Guardrails Fail to Work as Promised

A report released Wednesday by Common Sense Media stated that several guardrails on OpenAI's ChatGPT for Teens product fail to work as intended and pose an unacceptable risk to children.

The watchdog group urged OpenAI to restrict the chatbot exclusively to adults until a safe, developmentally appropriate experience can be guaranteed for minors.

OpenAI defended its safeguards, stating that Common Sense Media's testing methodology likely began before parental controls were fully activated.
