Opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi questioned the Centre and Delhi Police on Sunday after no FIR was filed regarding sexual harassment claims made by three women journalists during a Jantar Mantar protest.
The complaints allege manhandling and misconduct by Delhi police officers during a demonstration against the Election Commission on Saturday, prompting authorities to forward the matter to the Crime Branch for an inquiry.
Aam Zmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that failing to register the FIR could constitute a punishable offence under Section 199(c) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, carrying six months to two years of imprisonment.
