A new organisation named RSS Friends registered with the US Department of Justice on August 27 as a foreign agent representing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
The FARA filing listed the RSS as its foreign principal and noted its work will remain primarily informational, though it has no written employment or lobbying contract.
The registration follows a 2025 controversy where elite lobbying firm Squire Patton Boggs was paid $330,000 for RSS work before terminating its contract.
