DCP Sachin Sharma Authorized Pellet Gun Use Against July 20 Protesters

DCP Sachin Sharma issued a formal written order on July 20 authorizing the Rapid Action Force to use firearms and lathi charges against demonstrators at Jantar Mantar.

The document, signed under Section 149 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, specifically directed Assistant Commandant Dilwar to disperse the Chalo Sansad March assembly at approximately 5 pm.

This authorization follows a separate diary entry recording another DCP-rank officer ordering the use of 55 non-electric shells and two rounds of plastic pellets during the same protest operation.
