An Assam district was put on alert after a landslide upstream of the Dikhow river blocked about 80% of the water flow, three months after a severe deluge killed nearly 50 people.
The landslide occurred on Wednesday between Yongshei in Nagaland's Longleng district and Yaongyimsen in Mokokchung district, leaving only 20% of the river flowing.
Sivasagar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav stated that officials are coordinating with Nagaland counterparts and monitoring water levels, advising residents in Bihubar to stay alert.
